♦ As women age, their ratio of testosterone to estrogen rises, so they get more authoritative. As men age, they get less aggressive, because their ratio diminishes.
♦ In war men don’t fight for home and country, they fight for the men alongside, military buddies. In wartime women fight for home, family, and beliefs.
♦ Men don’t respect women acting like males. Women don’t respect men acting like females.
♦ Men offer advice cautiously. They can’t stand to be ignored or disregarded. Women offer advice freely. They’re not offended when it goes unheeded or ignored.
♦ She wants to look pretty. He wants to appear in control.
♦ Women are more group-oriented and men more individualistic.
♦ Women expect peace without having to fight for it. Men know they must fight for it.
♦ Men physically defend themselves. Women mentally defend themselves.
♦ The male nature competes but cooperates under pressure. The female nature cooperates first but easily competes under pressure if risks are not threatening to kids or family.

Guy,
Changed your mind? ;> I thought the original post you put up for today was dead-on…but I can easily see how a maelstrom of raging comments would detract from the overall purpose–and point–of the blog…that feminism allows for more “female victimization,” in the legal sense, than good old-fashioned, strong, morally grounded, “knock that ‘inappropriate behavior you’re doing’ off!!” femininity.
Princess Stacy,
Right on. You read my mind on maelstrom, victimization, and old-fashioned. The men/open-books in your life don’t stand a chance of being ‘unread’.

“In war men don’t fight for home and country, they fight for the men alongside, military buddies. In wartime women fight for home, family, and beliefs…”
This is VERY interesting and the dialouge on this matter could be its own blog. Are men conscious of this? As a devout Anti-war person, the above claim could well be useful for the cause.
But the men in the military, when asked they always say, “I did it for my country, freedom, the future of my kids..”etc.
Are you suggesting that men fighting for their was buddies is unconscious?
interesting Indeed.
Princess Dawn,
Men go to war to protect family, home, country, and beliefs. They fight in combat for the men alongside.
Guy
PS. Stacy says it even better.

Miss Dawn, if you ever come back and read this thread:
I am a former Marine Infantry Sergeant. I have been in two big wars and a couple little ones.
After awhile, I didn’t care about “Why We Fight”. As a “dumb grunt” squad leader, I’m relying on you as an American Citizen to make sure what I’m doing is worth it. That’s one of the responsibilities you have as a Citizen. The US Military has no real say in where it goes – we work for you and your elected representatives. If it’s a bad call, you’d better vote out the guys that sent me before I kick too much ass wherever I end up. This is as it should be.
(feel free to change the nationalities around if applicable – grunts are.pretty much the same everywhere. I’ll bet a Roman Legionnaire would give you a similar answer. But in Latin.)
Pondering stuff like UN resolutions and the Bill of Rights takes a backseat to keeping my guys alive and trying to live up to my responsibilities.
Miss Dawn,
If a man (or woman, nowadays) doesn’t fight to protect the man/woman fighting next to them FIRST, and vice versa, they cannot get around to fighting for home & country because they. will. be. dead.
The person next to you comes FIRST.
The other stuff comes as a by-product of doing the above.
Point #1 is a little sad . . . I thought the reason i was becoming more ‘authoritative’ was because I was aging and becoming more confident and less influenced by what people thought of me. It is so nice to be of an age that I don’t feel in competition with every other female around me and can relax and just be who I am, with no apologies. And it’s been such a relief to not be struggling with hormonal issues. Now I find out that it’s just another hormonal issue!!
Princess Katrinka,
Well done. Hormones initiate and reinforce. Changed behavior that accomodates your lifestyle reinforces social and cultural values. This makes older ladies the best leaders for young females. Unfortunately, the younger set quit following decades ago, but they act authoritatively as if hormones dictate it and before male testosterone begins to fade.
