2283. Attention, Ladies

I’ve had to break away from keyboard due to severe back pain. ER visit helped but treatment and meds haven’t worked yet. I’m not accustomed to back muscles overwhelming mind ‘muscles’. Not healed yet but I’ve returned to working on Recovery II about the way men love. Had a relapse this morning. If I don’t have another, I hope to publish by Monday.

Regretfully,

Guy

Dear Sir Guy, I’m praying for you all the way in Oxford, England! Men are never as handsome as when they seek to serve a lady despite their own lack of comfort.

    Your Highness Oxford Fan,

Thank you, sweetheart. This is my British month.

I’m a fan of you Brits. Recently finished a biography of Duke of Windsor and am almost finished with Rankin’s “A Genius For Deception—How Cunning Helped the British Win Two World Wars.” Also, just gave my autographed copy of Margaret Thatcher’s biography to a Folkstone-born and my favorite lady here in the U.S.

And now a pretty Brit calls me handsome. It just goes to show, give first and then you receive. Her Majesty Grace, my beautiful redheaded wife of 59 years taught me that lesson many years ago.

    Dear Sir Guy,
I hope you are feeling better soon.

There is an interesting new web resource for people who do a lot of sitting at a keyboard… let me know if it is of interest and I will send you details. I haven’t checked it out myself yet but thought of it when I read your post. However, you may have back issues for other reasons.

    Kate-Anne

    Your Highness Kate-Anne,
Please send it although I don’t think it’s the keyboard but the way I get up out of chairs.

    Get well soon!

    Your Highness Dove,

Thank you, darling. I can handle the discomfort and even pain if I can just finish recovery from my mistake. Back pain, mental strain, in the main, I can’t explain, and shouldn’t complain.

There once was a man with back pain,
    Which converted to mental strain.
    The result was horrid,
    As he smacked his forehead,
With no excuse for him to complain.

      Love the limerick!!

He can have a miserable time but continue to keep his sense of humor well intact. I find it admirable in a gentleman! Take your time, we shall be here. 🙂

  4. Oh you poor guy, I am so sorry! Back pain is just miserable. I’ll pray for a speedy recovery. Take your meds, apply ice and heat perhaps, and do some gentle and frequent walking to loosen those muscles.

  13. Sharon

Sir Guy, praying for a restful, restorative night of sleep. During the day, you might also try “hanging” in a pool of warm water, arms across an air mattress, letting legs and body drop limp beside it, letting the downward pull of the water bring soothing and a gentle adjustment.

  14. Eric

    Sir Guy:
I hate it when this happens, too—the best thing to do is lie down until it feels better and take walks to stretch it out some. Sometimes a good sauna helps too.

  15. Shermy

Wishing you a quick return to health and well being!

How do you like South Africa? I once thought of expatting there, and wondering how things have changed there these days.
